The Teen Choice Awards are always a highly anticipated event. Unlike other awards ceremonies, which require black ties and formal gowns, the comparatively laidback Teen Choice Awards give attendees the opportunity to have some fun with their looks.  It’s interesting to see which way the celebs choose to go given this freedom, and as always, we saw a lot gorgeous, youthful and chic fashion on the red carpet.

1. Lucy Hale: As the host for the evening, 'Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale had numerous costume changes – and all of them were hits. But her best look was undoubtedly this pale pink top and skirt by Houghton.

2. Crystal Reed: Crystal Reed looked catwalk ready with her Carolina Herrera ensemble. Her matching top and pants set combines two of the year’s biggest trends: prints and monochrome. Shaggy hair and a bright lip complete her look.

3.Shay Mitchell: Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell proves that the monochrome trend is stronger than ever with her figure flattering Jenny Kaye jumpsuit, which is perfectly complimented with her metallic yellow Jimmy Choo pumps.

4. Lily Collins: Lily Collins was one of the risk-takers on the blue carpet last night with her dramatically cascading, palm printed Fausto Pugligi skirt paired with a Houghton top. Dramatic ruffles are a must have for a statement making look this season. 

5.Kerry Washington: Kerry Washington is a bonafide fashion superstar, she gave all the starlets in attendance a run for their money with her quirky Stella McCartney dress which features a lips and hearts print.

6.Selena Gomez: Selena Gomez took a more mature, sophisticated approach with her dark green cutout dress by Cushnie et Ochs.  The entire look is very polished with a tinge of risqué, a perfect combination for the young starlet.  She adds another pop of color with her turquoise earrings; bright jewelry is the perfect way to elevate a look.
