Day to Night Makeup in 5 Steps

While most of us prefer a simple, almost bare makeup routine for the day, we want to turn things up a notch when heading out for the evening. For working girls, time is of the essence. Living a big city life means juggling jobs, friends and family and looking fabulous while doing so.  We are here to help you maintain that fabulous exterior by showing you how to take your daytime makeup look into the evening with 5 simple steps.

1.     Touch up Your Powder: This is the most obvious step in touching up your makeup routine. You don’t need to lug around a bottle of foundation. A silky smooth powder compact teamed with concealer will do the trick just fine.

2.     Intensify Your Eyeshadow: For the day, you should be sticking to matte, neutral shades for your eyes – staying away from all glitter based and loud shades. For the evenings, you can be a little bolder. Intensify your existing eyeshadow by filling in the crease or adding a slight shimmer. Invest in a good eyeshadow palette that has a variation of the same shades.

3.     Pile on the Eyeliner: Eyeliner is key to accentuate your eyes, and your entire look. Whether you line the upper lash line or use kohl in your waterline, liner elevates your beauty look by defining your eyes and making them pop.

4.     Add a Bright Lipstick: Bright lips have been all the rage this year: you no longer need to be hesitant about attention-grabbing red, pink or even orange lips. Choose a matte shade or top it up with some gloss for a more glam look.

5.     Shimmer on the Cheeks: A little highlight goes a long way. You don’t need to touch up your blush for the night, just add a bit of iridescent shimmer powder to highlight your cheekbones. This gives an amazingly flattering glow to finish off your look.

Tip: Always carry blotting papers or makeup wipes in your purse. They work wonders at making sure your face stays oil-free and looks fresh all day.
